Obituary: Linda Strange Nally, 92, Fredericktown

Linda Strange Nally, 92, of Fredericktown, died at 3:05 a.m., Friday, May 30, 2025, at the Sansbury Care Center at St. Catharine.

She was a native of Washington County. She was born Dec. 17, 1932, to the late Hyatt A. and Ollie Mae Croake Strange.

She was a member of the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, a graduate of Fredericktown High School and a longtime bookkeeper and accountant for several companies having retired from Nally and Hamilton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James L. “Jimmie” Nally (April 26, 1996); an infant son, Joseph Patrick Nally (March 17, 1961); one son, James Leo Nally (May 24, 2015); one grandson, Michael Cody Nally (Aug. 16, 2011); one sister, Carolyn Edelen (Dec. 23, 2017); and two brothers, Marion Strange (May 22, 2013) and Joe Robert Strange (Nov. 7, 1997).

Survivors include one daughter, Karen Spalding (Ricky) of Springfield; four sons, Christopher Nally (Kandy) and David Nally, both of Springfield, Jude Nally (Pam) of New Haven and Stephen Nally (Ginger) of Louisville; two sisters, Lucy Smith (Francis) and Suzanne Mattingly (Eugene) of Bardstown; three brothers, Jerome Strange, Larry Strange and Kendrick Strange (Mary), all of Bardstown; 12 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The Mass of Christian Burial is 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with the Rev. Augustine Judd officiating. Burial is in the Holy Trinity Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Monday, June 2, 2025, and 8-10 a.m. Tuesday, June 3, 2025, at Carey & Son Funeral Home in Springfield with a 7 p.m. prayer service at the funeral home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Channing Nally, Jared Nally, Ben Nally, Thomas Nally, Nick Spalding and Davis O’Bryan.

In lieu of flowers, contributions are requested to Sansbury Care Center.

Carey & Son Funeral Home in Springfield is in charge of arrangements.
