Obituary: Larry Duane Sweatt, 61, Taylorsville

Larry Duane Sweatt, 61, of Taylorsville, died Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at his home. He was born Aug. 22, 1963, in Louisville to the late Alvin Duane and Mamie Frances Simpson Sweatt.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Gay Sweatt; one daughter, Casie Sweatt; one son, Clayton Sweatt; and one sister, Judy Burgin.

He was a member of Field of Grace Church in Lebanon Junction. He was a former employee of General Electric. He loved classic cars and spent his free time attending car shows and going fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Bischoff of Taylorsville; two sisters, Doris (Jody) Goode of Bloomfield and Lisa Sweatt Solis of Bardstown; one grandson, Asher Duane Sweatt of Mount Eden; three nieces and one nephew.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2025, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Sister Mavis Bennett officiating. Burial is in in Highview Cemetery in Chaplin.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Sunday, June 8, 2025, and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, June 9, 2025 at the funeral home.

The Houghlin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
