Obituary: Billie Paige Carney Cox, 90, Lawrenceburg

Billie Paige Carney Cox, 90, of Lawrenceburg, died Sunday, June 22, 2025, at her home. She was born Jan. 14, 1935, in Washington County to the late William Maxwell and Rayma Darland Boblitt. She was a former employee of the Louisville Store in Bardstown for 18 years and was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed reading and collecting dolls.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold “Buddy” Carney; four infant siblings, Richard Boblitt, Robert Boblitt, Maxine Boblitt and Imogene Boblitt; one son-in-law, Bernard “Terry” Coulter; and one great-great granddaughter, Heavenly Faith Drury.

She is survived by three daughters, Karen Kay (Lynn) Reynolds and Sandra Lynn Coulter, both of Bardstown, and Vickie Fraser of Louisville; one son, David Leslie Carney of Louisville; one sister, Betty Foster of Bardstown; a bonus daughter, Louise Drury of Chaplin; 10 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great grandchildren.

The funeral is 1 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2025, at the Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home with Bro Jason Mattingly officiating. Burial is in the New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Washington County.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Thursday, June 26, 2025, and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2025, at the funeral home.

The Houghlin-Greenwell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
