Leon Yates, 69, Bloomfield

Leon Yates, 69, of Bloomfield, died Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011, at Hospice and Palliative Inpatient Unit in Louisville. He was a Nelson County native, a retired building contractor and a member of the Chaplin Christian Church.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Yates and a brother, Edgar Yates.

Survivors include his mother, Lucille Yates Holt of Bloomfield; two sons, Scott (Jackie) Yates of Bloomfield and Wesley (Sandy)Yates of Shepherdsville; his companion and her son Gail Elmore and David Chesser ofBloomfield; a sister Kathleen Milburn ofBloomfield; a  brother J.L. (Marilyn) Yates of Bloomfield.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4, 2011, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with the Bro. John Richardson presiding. Burial is in the Highview Cemetery in Chaplin.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Thursday at Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield
