Nelson Circuit Court Indictments-Nov. 2, 2011

Editor’s Note: The indictment of a person by a grand jury or otherwise is an accusation only and that person is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, 3:30 p.m. – The following people were indicted by a Nelson County grand jury on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011. They are set for arraignment on Nov. 17, 2011, unless otherwise indicated.

11-CR-212. Harry S. Houck, II, 25, possession of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor (22 counts).

According to the indictment, between June 18, 2010 and June 13, 2011, Houck allegedly possessed matter visually depicting an actual sexual performance by a minor. Bail was set the same as the primary charge, plus conditions.

11-CR-286. David Ramos, 27, first-degree trafficking in controlled substances and complicity to same; first-degree possession of a controlled substance and complicity to same; third-degree possession of a controlled substance and complicity to same.

According to the indictment, on Oct. 28, 2010, Ramos, acting alone or in concert with Randy Cooper, allegedly was in possession of cocaine with the intent to sell or transfer it. Ramos, acting alone or in concert with Cooper, is also charged with being in possession of unidentified pills. Bail was set at $50,000 cash only plus conditions.

11-CR-287. Steven D. Norris, 33, Bardstown, first-degree possession of controlled substances; possession of drug paraphernalia; possession of marijuana; and persistent felony offender, second-degree.

According to the indictment, on Aug. 3, 2011, Norris allegedly was in possession of cocaine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia. The indictment cites Norris’ previous felony convictions as the basis for the persistent felony offender charge. Bail was set at $50,000 cash only plus conditions.

11-CR-288. Randy E. Cooper Jr., 27, Bardstown, first-degree trafficking in controlled substances and complicity to same; first-degree possession of a controlled substance and complicity to same; third-degree possession of a controlled substance and complicity to same; and persistent felony offended, first-degree.

According to the indictment, on Oct. 28, 2010, Cooper, acting alone or in concert with David Ramos, allegedly was in possession of cocaine with the intent to sell or transfer it. Cooper, acting alone or in concert with Ramos, is also charged with being in possession of unidentified pills. The indictment cites Cooper’s previous felony convictions as the basis for the persistent felony offender charge. Bail was set at $100,000 cash only plus conditions.

11-CR-289. Peter Richard Hesse, 28, second-degree burglary; receiving stolen property.

According to the indictment, on Sept. 3, 2011, Hesse allegedly broke into a home and took a laptop computer belonging to someone else with a value of more than $500 but less than $10,000. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only plus conditions.

11-CR-290. Candace D. Glasscock, 19, Lebanon, receiving stolen property.

According to the indictment, between Sept. 30-Oct. 13, 2011, Glasscock allegedly received, retained or disposed of tools belonging to another individual having a value of more than $500 but less than $10,000. Bail was set at $5,000 cash only plus conditions.

11-CR-291. Chandulal M. Patel, 64, Bardstown, first-degree sexual abuse.

According to the indictment, on Aug. 1 and Sept. 6, 2011, Patel allegedly engaged in sexual contact with another person by use of forcible compulsion. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only plus conditions.

11-CR-292. Clarance P. Cox, 35, Bardstown, possession of a firearm by convicted felon. Bail was set at $5,000 cash only plus conditions.

11-CR-293. John H. Turner, 47, Lebanon, theft by deception, $500 or more; persistent felony offender, first-degree.

According to the indictment, on July 6, 2011, Turner allegedly wrote a check for payment of $1,154.34 to a local jewelry store knowing that it would not be honored by the bank. The indictment cites Turner’s previous felony convictions as the basis for the persistent felony offender charge. Bail was set at $50,000 cash only plus conditions.

11-CR-294. Ivan Jawun Satterfield, 18, Lexington, theft by unlawful taking.

According to the indictment, on Sept. 28, 2011, Satterfield allegedly took two rings valued at more than $500 but less than $10,000 from another person. Bail was set at $9,500 cash only plus conditions.

11-CR-295. Christopher E. White, 37, Bardstown, failure to comply with sex offender registry; persistent felony offender, first-degree.

According to the indictment, White allegedly failed to register with the local probation and parole office after relocating to Nelson County as required by the Sex Offender Registry. The indictment cites White’s previous felony convictions as the basis for the persistent felony offender charge. Bail was set at $50,000 cash only plus conditions.
