Bardstown Police respond to report of hitchhiker stealing man’s car

Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011, 8:58 p.m. — Bardstown Police were called to Walmart to meet with a man who said he gave a hitchhiker a ride and the hitchhiker stole his car. Once the pair arrived at Walmart, the hitchhiker offered to park the man’s car for him. After the man exited the store, he said he was unable to find his car or the hitchhiker. The car was a gray Saturn Aura. Police were unable to find the car’s owner, who apparently left the area on foot. The man later called dispatch and reported he had located his vehicle but did not say where.
