Michael ‘Mike’ Buford Holt, 58, Hodgenville

Michael “Mike” Buford Holt, 58, of Hodgenville, died Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011 after suffering a heart attack. He was born to the late Robert Buford “RB” Holt and Mary Sue Crady Holt.

He was a Baptist by faith, a graduate of LaRue County High School and Nashville AutoDiesel College in Nashville. He was employed as an inspector for the Department of Defense at Fort Knox.  He was deacon and a member of the Rolling Fork Baptist Church, Lincoln Trail Gun Club, and the Amateur Trap Shooting Association. He was an American Red Cross blood and platelet donor.

He was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Anita Holt.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie Brooks Holt; his mother, Mary Sue Holt; one daughter, Valerie Holt; one daughter, Valerie Holt; two sons, Robert Matthew (Cara) Holt, and Jon Wesley (Kellie) Holt; one stepdaughter, Dara Brackett; one stepson, Derek (Debbie) Ford; one sister, Robin (Gary) Vittitow; two brothers, Tony (Sandy) Holt, and Chris (Susan) Holt; six grandchildren, Michael Briar, Cole, Taylor, Brooks, Curtis and Carris; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 11, 2011, at Rolling Fork Baptist Church in Boston with burial in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011, at the Joseph L. Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven, and 9-11 a.m. Friday at the Rolling Fork Baptist Church in Boston.
