Teen indicted for break-ins at Bloomfield area businesses
Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011, 9 p.m. — A Bloomfield teenager was indicted Wednesday by a Nelson County grand jury in connection with break-ins at two Bloomfield businesses and an attempted break-in at a Bloomfield church.
Samuel Conner Mays, 18, was indicted on charges of burglary, first-degree; burglary, third-degree; burglary, third-degree (attempted); and criminal mischief, third-degree (three counts).
According to the indictment, on Oct. 31, 2011, Mays allegedly broke into Houghlin Funeral Home and the office of Drs. Hendren and Lockett in Bloomfield. He also allegedly attempted to enter the Bloomfield House of God, damaging property belonging to each individual business and the church having a value of $500 or less.
Bail was set at $20,000 cash only, plus conditions. The men will be arraigned in Nelson Circuit Court on Dec. 8, 2011.
