Northeast Nelson Fire called to Chaplin for reported house fire
Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, 1:25 a.m. — The Northeast Nelson Fire Department was dispatched to a house fire at the corner of 5499 Lawrenceburg Road near the intersection of Nelson Avenue and Lawrenceburg Road, at about 1:25 Saturday morning. Nelson County EMS was dispatched to standby. A Nelson County deputy sheriff arrived at the fire scene just after the fire department was called. The first firefighter on scene reported seeing smoke coming from the single-story home. The Bardstown Fire Department was put on standby status while Northeast firefighters attacked the house fire.
1:55 a.m. — Northeast Nelson chief requests mutual aid from the Bardstown Fire Department. Bardstown Fire is sending a truck and a crew of four firefighters. A second truck and crew was followed the first a few minutes later.
3 a.m. — The American Red Cross is responding to assist with housing needs of an adult and an infant.
