Imelda Marie ‘Tootsie’ Shanks, 67, Bardstown

Imelda Marie “Tootsie” Shanks, 67, of Bardstown, died Friday, Nov. 25, 2011, at Colonial Health and Rehab.

She was former Marie Medley, a native of Washington County, a retired employee of Sears Credit Center in Louisville, and a member of the Evangel Tabernacle in Louisville.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Louie “Duke” and Aline Lee Medley; a brother, Thomas Medley; her stepfather, Jim Smith; and a nephew, Tony Medley.

She is survived by her husband, Roy Shanks; one daughter, Gretchen Shanks of Portland, Ore.; two sons, Roy Joseph Shanks, Jr. of Mt. Washington, and Thomas Leo Shanks of Bardstown; two grandchildren, Kelsey and Corey Shanks; and one great-grandchild.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011 from the Greenwell Houghlin Northside Funeral Home with burial inBardstownCemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28, 2011, at the Greenwell Houghlin Northside Funeral Home.
