Two injured in two-vehicle head-on crash on New Haven Road
Saturday, Dec. 3, 2011, 2:20 p.m. — Two people were injured early Saturdayafternoon in a two-vehicle head-on crash in the 5700 block of New Haven Road south of Bardstown. Nelson County EMS and the sheriff’s office responded to the call about 12:10 Saturday afternoon. The Bardstown Fire Department was called for smoke coming from the engine compartment. A medical helicopter transported one of the victims, a 21-year-old man who was possibly ejected in the collision. EMTs reported that the man had an open femur fracture and was unable to remember the crash. The man was taken my EMS to Flaget Memorial Hospital, where he was flown on to University Hospital in Louisville. New Haven Road was closed for more than two hours while the crash was investigated.
