Rains prompt new flood warnings for Boston, Rolling Fork River valley

Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2011, 10:30 p.m. — A flood warning for Nelson County was issued Tuesday night for the Rolling Fork River, affecting the Boston area and also Hardin County areas near the river. The warning is set to continue through Thursday afternoon.

The river level was 34.0 feet, one foot below flood stage of 35 feet. The river is expected to continue to rise, cresting Wednesday near 36.4 feet.

The five day forecast from the National Weather Service shows only a 20 percent of additional rain tomorrow, and clear to partly cloudy skies through the weekend, with a chance of snow flurries Friday night.
