Wimsett, executive veep and senior lending officer, to retire from TCBT

Friday, Dec. 9, 2011, 7 a.m. — After more than 28 years of service to the community, Raffo Wimsett, executive vice president and senior lending officer at Town & Country Bank and Trust, will retire Dec. 31, 2011.
Wimsett, who joined the bank in 1983 at the New Haven branch, will continue to serve as a director of the bank and its holding company, First Farmers Bank Holding Company.
“I just want to thank our customers, my co-workers and the Board of Directors for all their confidence and support throughout my career,” Wimsett said. “I have thoroughly enjoyed my career at the bank and I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to meet and assist so many wonderful people throughout Nelson County. While I’m retiring from my day to day responsibilities at the bank, I look forward to continuing my involvement in the organization as a Director.”
Linda Rumpke, bank president and CEO said “Raffo has played an integral role for our bank and the communities we serve. He has worked tirelessly in assisting our clients in establishing and growing their businesses as well as provided leadership for numerous philanthropic and civic organizations. While I understand his desire to step away from the day to day operations, I am pleased that he will continue to play a leadership role in our organization.”
According to Board Chairman Thomas Wimsett , he and the rest of the bank’s directors appreciate his years of service and his commitment to continue to serve as a director.
Wimsett joined Town & Country Bank as a loan officer in 1983. He transferred to the main office in 1985 and has held various positions in the organization during his career. In 1998, he was named a senior vice president of the bank and in 2003 he was promoted to executive vice president/chief lending officer. In 2008, he was named regional president for Nelson County and in 2009, he was elected to the board of directors for both Town & Country Bank and Trust Company and First Farmers Bank Holding Company.
He currently serves on the board of both Nazareth Village 1 and Bardstown Industrial Development Corporation. He is a former board member of Hospice of Nelson County, Bardstown-Nelson County Chamber of Commerce, American Heart Association, St. Joseph Athletic Board, Big Brothers/Big Sisters and Fundraising Board of Nelson County Industries.
