Roy H. Colvin, 89, Chaplin

Roy H. Colvin, 89, of Chaplin, died Friday, Dec. 9, 2011 at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown.

He was a native of Anderson County and a retired employee of General Electric.  He was a member of the Chaplin Fork Baptist Churchwhere he served as a deacon and church treasurer; he recently had been attending Chaplin Baptist Church.

He was the son of the late Charles & Maude Nethery Colvin and was preceded in death by his sister Kathryn Jennings, and a grand-daughter Michelle Carney.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Thomas Colvin; one daughter, Brenda (Eddie) Carney of Bardstown; and two grandchildren, Melissa Carney andChad(Ashley) Carney.

The funeral is 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 12, 2011, at the Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield with services conducted by Brother Bill Johnson. Burial is in Chaplin Highview Cemetery in Chaplin.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the  Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield.
