Bardstown woman charged with stealing $14,000 from her employer

Saturday, Dec. 10, 2011, 11 a.m. — A Bardstown woman was arrested Thursday and charged with stealing more than $14,000 from her employer, Sullivan University in Louisville.
Jazi R. Sokolow, 34, a resident of Ballard Springs Drive, had been employed at Sullivan for about a year and a half in an administrative support position, according to the Louisville Courier-Journal. Sokolow admitted embezzling university money in a taped statement according to a Louisville Metro Police citation. She was fired from her job on Thursday.
Police say Sokolow used a credit/debit card without authorization to make personal purchases and cash withdrawals for more than a year.
Sokolow is scheduled to be arraigned on felony charges at 9 a.m. Tuesday in Jefferson District Court.
