Maurice Paul Hawkins, 58, New Haven

Maurice Paul Hawkins. 58, of New Haven, died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011, at Flaget Memorial Hospital.

He was a life long resident of New Haven, born to the late Albert Walter and Margaret Evelyn Grubbs Hawkins.  Paul was a devoted dad, grandfather and brother. He loved to golf, fish, play softball and was a big UK fan. He was a supervisor at Johnan of America in Bardstown.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Margaret Hawkins; four brothers, Bob, Ronnie, Jim and Albert Hawkins; and his father-in-law, Robert O’Bryan.

Paul is survived by his wife Wanda O’Bryan Hawkins; two sons, Chris (Jessi) Hawkins and Jamie (Tabetha) Hawkins, both of Culvertown; one daughter, Melanie (Chris) Bishop of Bardstown; five brothers, Danny Hawkins of Bardstown, Emile Hawkins of Louisville, and Gary Hawkins, Larry Hawkins, Doug Hawkins, all of Loretto; five sisters, Carol Hawkins of Louisville, Margie Greenwell of Loretto, Laverne Hickerson of Elizabethtown, and Gloria Wathen, and Judy Hawkins, both of Bardstown; eight grandchildren, Madison, Michael, Hannah and Noah Hawkins, Mackenzie Clark, Abigail Willett, Gracyn and Gretchen Bishop; many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

The funera is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011, at St. Catherine Catholic Church in New Haven with the Rev. Troy Overton officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 1-8 p.m. Tuesday with a prayer service at 6 p.m., and 8-11 a.m. Wednesday at the Joseph L Greenwell Funeral Home in New Haven.
