Dewey Kempton Vincent, Sr., 87, Cox’s Creek

Dewey Kempton Vincent, Sr., 87 of Cox’s Creek, died Wednesday, Dec. 21, 2011, at his home.

He was a native of EdmonsonCounty, a retired maintenance supervisor for Armor Elevator and Brown Forman Distillery. He was an army veteran of WWII, having fought at the Battleof the Bulge, Rhineland, and Ardennes. He was a member of Duvall Masonic Lodge #6, a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner.

He was the son of the late George Rex and Rosa York Vincent. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda Sue Vincent; a sister, Beulah Graham; and a brother, Kelly Vincent.

He is survived by his wife, Effie Johnson Vincent; four sons, Dewey K. (Brenda Sue) Vincent, Jr., James (Kathy) Vincent, Robert (Robyn) Vincent, and Ronnie (Rita) Vincent, all of Louisville; one grandchild; two stepgrandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 24, 2011, at the Greenwell Houghlin Northside Funeral Home in Bardstown with Bro. Dylan Mays officiating. Burial is in the BardstownCemetery.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23, 2011, at the Greenwell Houghlin Northside Funeral Home with a Masonic memorial service at 6 p.m.
