Elizabeth Jewell Foster, 78, Bardstown
Elizabeth Jewell Foster, 78, of Bardstown, died Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown.
She was the former Jewell White and was a Nelson County native. She was a retired employee of the Nelson County Board of Education and worked in food services at Eli Brown Elementary School. She was a member of the Bloomfield Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher.
Survivors include her husband, Robert L. Foster; three sons, Dale (Lila) Foster, Wayne (Kim) Foster, and Gary (Vivian) Foster, all of Bardstown; one sister, Christine Thomas of Mt. Washington; one brother, James E. “Buddy” (Pauline) White of Bloomfield; six grandchildren, Nikki Hutchins, Justin Foster, Courtney Foster, Tyler Foster, Hayley Foster, Landon Foster; one great-grandchild, Sloan Foster; and a special niece, Mildred Marksbury, who helped care for her.
The funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012, at the Bloomfield Baptist church with Brother Earl Pike, Richard Carwile and Leland Parks officiating. Burial is in the Bardstown Cemetery.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 2, 2012, at Houghlin Funeral Home in Bloomfield, and 9-11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012, at Bloomfield Baptist Church.
The family requires expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to Hospice of Nelson County or the Bloomfield Baptist Church building fund.

A Bardstown resident Mrs. Elizabeth Jewell Foster age 78 passed away on Friday December 30, 2011 in Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown. She was the former Jewell White a native of Nelson Co. She was the daughter of the late Tony and Anna Hahn White and was preceded in death by a sister Louise Tingle. She is survived by her husband Robert L. Foster, three sons Dale (Lila) Foster, Wayne (Kim) Foster and Gary (Vivian) Foster all of Bardstown, one sister Christine Thomas of Mt. Washington, a brother James E. (Buddy) (Pauline) White of Bloomfield, six grandchildren Nikki Hutchins, Justin Foster, Courtney Foster, Tyler Foster, Hayley Foster, Landon Foster and one great-grandchild Sloan Foster also survive as well as special niece Mildred Marksbury who helped care for her. Funeral services for Mrs. Jewell Foster will be Tuesday January 3, 2012 at 11:00 A.M .from the Bloomfield Baptist Church conducted by Brother Earl Pike, Richard Carwile and Leland Parks, burial will be in Bardstown cemetery. Friends may kindly call the Houglin Funeral home on Monday from 2:00 -8;00 p.m. additional visitation will be Tuesday beginning at 9:00 a.m. at the Bloomfield Baptist Church until time of services.
