Deputy investigates report of children driving in Dean Watts Park

 Saturday, Jan. 7, 2012, 10:40 p.m. — The Nelson County Sheriff’s Office was asked to investigate a report that a woman in a 1999 Saturn was allowing her children under the age of 8 to operate her car inside Dean Watts Park. A deputy located the woman, who explained the children were not operating the vehicle, but had ridden in her lap as she drove across the park. She was advised to discontinue the practice. The call to dispatch came in about 2 p.m. Saturday.
