Janice Marie Hicks, 52, New Hope

Janice Marie Hicks, 52, of New Hope, died Friday, Jan. 20, 2012, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident Friday night in Bardstown.

She was born Feb. 26, 1959, in Nelson County and was a 25 year employee of American Greetings in Bardstown.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bernard Fred Hicks, Sr., one sister, Sharon Egorow, two brothers, Kenneth Gordon Hicks and David Allen Hicks.

Survivors include her mother, Catherine Williamson Hicks of New Hope; five sisters, Lois (Joe Larry) Mattingly and Judy (Fuzz) Masterson, both of New Haven, Debbie Morris of New Hope, Nancy (Stuart) Newton of Loretto and Lisa (Billy) Hall of Bloomfield; four brothers, Ted Hicks, Steve Hicks and Donald Hicks, all of New Hope, and Rick (Susan) Hicks of Lexington; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, New Hope, followed by burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Kenneth Fortener will be the celebrant.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 23, 2012 and 8-10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 24, 2012 at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with a prayer service at 7 p.m. Monday. Deacon Edward Hutchins will preside.
