Roy Elbert Vittitow, 88, New Haven

Roy Elbert Vittitow, 88, formerly of Lyons Station, died Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, at his residence inNew Haven.

He was a Baptist by faith and a member ofRollingForkBaptistChurch. He retired from Gamble Bros. inLouisvilleafter 32 years of service and was a United States Army Veteran.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lennie Vittitow; five brothers, Selvey, Elzie, Gonzie, Daymon and Golden “Gobbler” Vittitow; five sisters, Corine Nalley, Mattie Lee Lafollette , Alberta Dewitt, Myrtle and Eula Vittitow.

Survivors include his loving wife of 60 years, Deloris “Skippy” Lafollette; two daughters, Ava Allen of New Haven and Becky Sidebottom of Boston; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, at the Rolling Fork Baptist Church with Bro. Larry Brown and Bro. Bruce Nichols officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Visitation is 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Friday and 8-10:30 a.m. at the Joseph L Greenwell Funeral Home inNew Haven.
