Firefighters called to East Broadway after wood stove sets off alarms
Saturday, Jan. 28, 2012, 2 a.m. – The Bardstown Fire Department was called about 7:45 Friday evening to the 100 block of East Broadway for an odor investigation in an apartment. The tenant recently installed a new wood stove and was using it for the first time. Firefighters determined the wood stove and chimney were OK, and the odor the stove was creating was the smell of the paint curing on the new stove. Firefighters checked the chimney and found nothing out of the ordinary. Firefighters cleared the scene at 8:14 p.m.
