Girl, 14, suffers severe injuries when hit by car on North Third St.

Sunday, Jan. 29, 2012, 3:30 p.m. (UPDATED 3:55 p.m.) — A 14-year-old girl suffered severe injury Sunday afternoon about 3 p.m. when she was struck by a car on North Third Street near Forrest Avenue. The teen reportedly suffered head trauma and a leg injury. The victim was taken by Nelson County EMS to a waiting medical helicopter at Flaget Memorial Hospital’s helicopter pad. The teen was flown directly to Kosair Children’s Hospital in Louisville for treatment. North Third Street was closed to traffic for nearly an hour.
