Monday morning fire evacuates Tower Automotive plant

Monday, Jan. 30, 2012, 10:23 a.m. — No one was injured after an early morning fire Monday at Tower Automotive, 850 Withrow Court in Bardstown. The alarm was sounded about 4:30 a.m. when the Bardstown Fire Department was dispatched to the metal stamping plant for a fire in the building’s filter system. Firefighters and the building maintenance employees removed the filters from the system while firefighters worked to determine the extent of the fire. Nelson County EMS transported one person to Flaget Memorial Hospital with minor injuries from the scene. Firefighters were at the scene until about 6 a.m.
