Three injured in 3-vehicle crash flown to Louisville hospitals

BREAKING NEWS, Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, 9:20 a.m. — Three people were injured Tuesday morning in a three-vehicle crash on KY 509, Samuels Road that happened about 8 a.m. Two adults, a 28-year-old man with right side pain and a 26-year-old pregnant woman with bilateral leg fractures were flown to University Hospital in Louisville for treatment of their injuries. The woman was trapped in the vehicle she was driving for nearly an hour before she was extricated by members of the Bardstown Fire Department. A 5-year-0ld girl was flown by helicopter to Kosair Children’s Hospital for treatment of a head injury. Firefighters and Nelson County EMS were on the scene of the crash for nearly an hour.
