Construction dust activates fire alarm at Foster Heights Friday

Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012, 12:30 a.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department was called to Foster Heights Elementary School, 211 East Muir Friday afternoon about 2:15 p.m. after an alarm was activated. Students were evacuating when the first fire units were arriving. Employees at the school said a construction company crew had been in the school earlier in the day. Firefighters determined that the earlier construction work may had caused a detector to activate and trigger the alarm. The school’s alarm company was going to check the system and repair it if necessary.
