Frances Edith Dragoo, 87, Bardstown

Frances Edith Dragoo, 87, of Bardstown, died Tuesday, Feb. 7, 2012, at Flaget Memorial Hospital. She was born March 17, 1924, in Nelson County and was a member of St. Joseph parish.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marion Francis Dragoo; a daughter, Cathy Dragoo; her parents, James Ivo and Mary Emma “Avis” Bartley; a brother, James Bartley Jr.; and a sister, Margaret Ann Whitson.

Survivors include three sons, Dalton (Ruth) Dragoo of Greenbrier, Jimmy (Jane) Dragoo and Michael (Carolyn) Dragoo, both of Bardstown; four daughters, Josephine (Bobby) Lewis of Fairfield, Sandy (George) Mattingly of New Hope, Kelley (Kenny Ray) Peake of Bardstown, and Patty (Kenny) Bartley of Greenbrier; 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, at the Basilica of St. Jospeh Proto-Cathredral with burial in St. Thomas Cemetery.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012, and 8:30-11 a.m. at Mann and Greenwell Funeral Home. A prayer service is Wednesday evening.
