Lt. Col. (ret.) Donald Dean Goodin, 76, Boston

Lt. Col. (ret.) Donald Dean Goodin, 76, of Boston, died Thursday, Feb. 9, 2012, at his home. The Beardstown,Ill., native served four years in the United States Army and 26 years in the U.S. Air Force. He retired as president of the San Bernardino Valley Water District with 16 years of service. He was a Nelson County Air Board director. He attended Youngers Creek Baptist Church, and was a Mason and a Shriner.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester Lewis and Helen Louise Phillips Goodin; and one brother, Ronald Lee Goodin.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Brown Goodin; a daughter, Patricia Lynn (Larry) Reimann of Dallas; a son, David Scott (Laurie) Goodin of Dallas; a sister, Dorothy Mae Goodin; a brother, William Edward (Diane) Goodin of Sand Springs, Okla.; and one granddaughter, Peyton Goodin.

The funeral is 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, at the Greenwell-Houghlin Northside Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Rogers officiating. A graveside service is 11 a.m. Monday at the Lebanon National Cemetery in Lebanon with the Marion County Honor Guard performing military honors.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, at the funeral home.
