Four arrested in police raid of suspects trading stolen goods for illegal drugs

Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, 11 p.m. — Four people were arrested Wednesday in an on-going investigation by Bardstown Police in the trading of stolen property for illegal drugs.

Beginning at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, officers from the Bardstown Police Department and Kentucky State Police executed simultaneous search warrants at three locations — 128 Federal Place, 131 Federal Place and 114 Harrow Court in Bardstown. Police recovered numerous items stolen during a recent burglary and goods shoplifted from the Bardstown Walmart, including air compressors, hand tools, power tools, tool sets, generators, automobile rims, a stereo system, and a Suzuki motorcycle.

Police also seized 50 grams of cocaine, a handgun and $5,000 in cash during the raids.

Due to the multiple locations and multiple suspects involved in the raid, police needed all available officers on first and second shifts to assist, as well some off-duty officers and two KSP troopers. Walmart loss-prevention personnel also assisted officers with the investigation.

Quentin Montgomery, 33, of Bardstown, was arrested at 114 Harrow Court and charged with trafficking controlled substances, first-degree, cocaine; convicted felon in possession of a handgun; receiving stolen property; and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Tiffany A. Yates, 20, of Bardstown, was arrested at 128 Federal Place and charged with trafficking a controlled substance, first-degree, cocaine; trafficking a controlled substance, third-degree, drug unspecified; trafficking a controlled substance, second-degree, drug unspecified; possession of drug paraphernalia and receiving stolen property.

Antonio Mason, 36, of Bardstown, was arrested at 131 Federal Place and charged with trafficking a controlled substance, first-degree, cocaine; trafficking controlled substance, cocaine; possession of a controlled substance, first-degree, opiates; receiving stolen property; possession of marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia.

April L. Tonge, 29, of Bardstown, was arrested at 131 Federal Place and charged with trafficking a controlled substance, first-degree; trafficking controlled substance, first-degree, opiates; receiving stolen property; prescription not in proper container; possession of marijuana; possession of drug paraphernalia.

Bardstown Police Department detectives Barbara Roby, Lynn Davis and McKenzie Mattingly are the investigating officers.
