Mary Alice Ritchie Peterson, 71, of New Haven, died Sunday, Feb. 26, 2012, at her home.
MARY ALICE RITCHIE PETERSON
She was born Feb. 29, 1940, in Nelson County, and recently retired after 28 years with Walmart in Bardstown. She was a member of Saint Catherine of Alexandria Catholic Church in New Haven. She formerly attended Bethlehem Academy and was a member of the Nelson County Homemakers Association and American Legion Post 121 Auxiliary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis Malachi Ritchie, Jr. and Mary Lorene Holbert Ritchie; her son, Curtis Anthony Lee Holt; two brothers, Curtis Ritchie III and Deanie Ritchie; and one grandson, Isaac Lee Holt.
Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Robert “Bob” Peterson; two sons, Danny Holt of Bardstown and James (Tammy) Holt of Shepherdsville; two daughters, Marie Holt of Louisville and Sarah (Kenny) Holbert of New Haven; four stepsons, Bob (Anna) Peterson of Louisville, Kevin (Mindy) Peterson of Loretto, Chris Peterson of Bardstown and Eddie (Debbie) Peterson of Louisville; one stepdaughter, Lori Johnson of Florida; one sister, Jeanie Ritchie (Gary) Blaski of Richland, Wash.; one brother, Bruce Ritchie of Louisville; 17 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial is 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012, at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church in New Haven, followed by burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Gerald Peterson and the Rev. Troy Overton will be the celebrants.
Visitation is 1-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2012, at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto with prayer services at 7 p.m.
