Geraldine ‘Jerri’ Newton, 82, Jeffersonville, Ind.

Geraldine “Jerri” Newton, 82, of Jeffersonville, Ind., died Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012 at Clark Memorial Hospital, Jeffersonville.

She was born Jan. 28, 1930, in Louisville and was a former homemaker and a Catholic by faith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Derlin Newton, and her parents, Thomas and Johnnie Ester Hall.

Survivors include her daughter, Debra (Tony) Sharp of Jeffersonville; two granddaughters; three great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Saturday, march 3, 2012 at Mattingly Funeral Home, 195 Holy Cross Road, Loretto, with burial in the Holy Rosary Cemetery at Manton. The Rev. Chris Allegra will officiate.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Friday, March 2, 2012, at the funeral home.
