Friday, March 2, 2012, 10:40 a.m. — Nelson County and Central Kentucky have been upgraded to a high risk of severe weather this afternoon and evening.
The National Weather Service reports it expects a severe weather outbreak that may include dangerous thunderstorms capable of producing large hail, cloud-to-ground lightning and tornadoes. A cold front will sweep across Kentucky from the west, creating the highest chances for severe weather.
This afternoon between 2-4 p.m., severe storms are likely in the I-65 corridor and will push east through the afternoon and early evening. This storms will remain strong and capable of heavy rain, high winds, hail and toradoes.
