Monday, Dec. 8, 2025 — Nelson County Judge-Executive Tim Hutchins told his radio audience last week that he is looking to make a decision regarding his plan to remove county funding currently used by the Nelson County Sheriff’s Office for countywide law enforcement and use it to create a new countywide — and county government funded — police department.
Hutchins made the comments near the end of his “Around the County” radio show broadcast at 11 a.m. every Tuesday on WBRT Radio.
Hutchins also updated listeners on other county topics including an update on the western bypass construction and other topics. Running time, about 56 minutes.
