20-year-old woman injured Monday night in rear-end collision on US31E

Tuesday, April 21, 2015, 2 a.m. — A 20-year-old woman suffered minor injuries Monday night in a rear-end collision on Louisville Road near its intersection with Plum Run Road. The accident was reported at about 9:25 p.m. while the Bardstown Fire Department was at that location for an vehicle fire reported about 20 minutes earlier. Nelson County EMS responded to the crash; firefighters who were already on the scene assisted the victim until EMS arrived. EMS transported the woman to Flaget Memorial Hospital complaining of neck, back and head pain.
Firefighters extinguished the vehicle fire, which was mostly contained in the engine compartment. Firefighters were on the scene for about 45 minutes. The Bardstown Police Department responded to the injury accident.
