Obituary: Kenny Downs, 62, Bardstown

KENNY DOWNS

Kenny Downs, 62, of Bardstown, died Saturday, April 25, 2015, at Norton Audubon Hospital. He was born June 13, 1952, in Bardstown. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and a devout Christian. He took pride and love in mowing grass for himself and others. He was involved with a UK study to benefit individuals with congestive heart failure. He worked in shipping and receiving for AGC for 25 years. He served with the Army National Guard and was a member of the American Legion Post 121. He was a member of Parkway Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father; Thomas “Leon” Downs; and one sister, Donna Jeanine Downs.

He is survived by his wife, Theresa Downs of Bardstown; two daughters, Crysta (Jacob) Durbin and Stacey (Ben) Cull, both of Bardstown; one son, Thomas (Tabitha) Downs of Lexington; his mother, Alice Christine Downs of Bardstown; one sister, Judy Christine (Hark) Parrish of Bardstown; and two grandchildren, Isaac Cull and Harper Downs.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at the Barlow Funeral Home with burial in the St. Joseph Cemetery with Dr. James Carroll officiating.

Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Monday, April 27, 2015, and 9-11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may go to Parkway Baptist Church or the American Heart Association.

The Barlow Funeral Home in Bardstown is in charge of arrangements.
