Monday, March 18, 2019, 1:30 a.m. — The Northeast Nelson Fire Department was called to the Bruckheimer farm’s ice skating rink at 1039 Taylorsville Road for an active fire alarm called in by the alarm company. Firefighters were dispatched to the ice rink just before midnight Sunday night.
A sheriff’s deputy on the scene confirmed that he could smell the odor of overheated electric wiring in the structure. Firefighters arrived on scene and after their investigation, determined that an electric motor a chiller unit had overheated and was the source for the alarm. The structure was turned over to the facility maintenance and firefighters cleared the scene at about 12:32 a.m.
