Anne Elizabeth Evans, 80, Bardstown

Anne Elizabeth Evans, 80, of Bardstown, died Monday, Feb. 5, 2012, at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown. She was the former Anna Elizabeth Lewis, a native of Nelson County. She was a retired domestic and had cared for numerous children in her lifetime. She was a faithful member of St. Monica Catholic Church and a homemaker.

She was the daughter of the late Albert and Elizabeth Wilson Lewis and was preceded in death by her husband Thomas “Tennessee Tom” Evans and a brother Albert “Sonny” Lewis.

She is survived by two daughters, Patricia Ann Gales of Bardstown and Benita Marie (Greg) Burch of Lebanon; two sons, John Albert (Ella) Scott of Oklahoma City and Harold Joseph (Michelle) Scott of Elizabethtown; one sister, Katherine Hughes ofFairfield; one brother, Thomas (Mae) Lewis of Indianapolis; 19 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday, Feb. 10, 2012, at St. Monica Catholic Church with burial inLebanonNationalCemeteryinLebanon.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the Greenwell-Houghlin Northside Funeral Home with a prayer service 7 p.m.
