Monday, March 24, 2014, 2:30 p.m. — Bardstown has advanced to the Sweet 16 in Garden & Gun magazine’s “Greatest Southern Towns” bracket challenge.
After besting Greenwood, Mississippi, in last week’s first round that put 32 Southern towns head-to-head, Bardstown faces off this week against Florence, Ala.
Bardstown took an early lead in the voting early Monday morning, but fell behind Greenwood’s total by afternoon.
To support Bardstown, visit www.gardenandgun.com, click the Greatest Southern Town logo, and cast vote for Bardstown. Voting is open through Thursday, March 27. Visitors are limited to one vote each day.
According to the magazine’s website, nearly 700,000 votes were cast last week.
