Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, 6:30 p.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department was called Saturday afternoon at 2:35 p.m. to a home in the 100 block of Maywood Avenue for an active fire alarm. Firefighters arrived to find that the resident had extinguished a small kitchen fire. Two fire crews entered the home — one to check if the fire had spread in an unseen area, and the second to start removing smoke from the home. Firefighters were on scene for about 25 minutes.
