Friday, Aug. 3, 2012, 11 a.m. — The Bardstown Fire Department responded Thursday night to a reported large field fire in a wooded area off Poplar Flat Road near Mill Creek Baptist Church. Firefighters confirmed the fire was a controlled burn that had not been properly reported to Nelson County Dispatch. Firefighters responded to the scene at about 9:15 Thursday night.
