Brooks Houck files as Democrat for Nelson County sheriff

Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2014, 2:30 p.m. — Brooks Houck of Bardstown has filed as a Democrat for the office of Nelson County sheriff.

Houck’s filing sets up a Democratic primary meeting between Houck and fellow Democrat Ed Mattingly, who filed to run for office in early November.

The winner of the Democratic primary will face Republican J.T. Fulkerson in the November general election.

The filing deadline for the May primary is 4 p.m. today. Check the Gazette for additional candidate filings after the deadline.
