Charlene Davis, 51, of Bardstown, died Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, at her home. She was the former Charlene McDonald and was born April 30, 1961 in Lexington. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Pathology from Western Kentucky University and a Masters Degree from the University of Louisville. She was employed as a speech pathologist in the Nelson County Schools and was a member of St. Joseph parish.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Edward McDonald.
She is survived by a son, Zachary James Davis of Bardstown; two daughters, Meghan Elizabeth Davis and Alyssa Marie Davis, both of Bardstown; her mother, Mary Dorothy Cecil McDonald of Bardstown; one sister, Alicia Weatherbee of Madison, Wis.; one brother, James McDonald of Cox’s Creek; the father of her children, Craig Davis of New Haven; and three nieces and two nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at the Basilica of St. Joseph Proto-Cathedral with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. C. Joseph Batcheldor will be the celebrant.
Visitation is 2-8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012, and 8:30-11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at Clark and Houghlin Funeral Home. A prayer service will be 6 p.m. Sunday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Nelson County Humane Society.
