Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2012, 8:30 a.m. – The computer system used for vehicle registrations is once again offline according to the Nelson County Clerk’s office. The AVIS began experiencing problems last Thursday and remained offline for much of Friday.
Individuals who wish to register, renew or transfer a vehicle in Nelson County today should call the county clerk’s office to see if the computers are working before arriving at the clerk’s office. All other functions in the clerk’s office are available.
Nelson County Clerk Elaine Filiatreau said an announcement will be issued to the media when the computer system is back up and operating. Check the Nelson County Gazette on Facebook and Twitter for the latest updates.
