Construction funding awarded for widening KY 245 between US 62, US 150

Thursday, March 20, 2014 — A $15 million contact to widen the KY 245 bypass between Bloomfield Road (US 62) and Springfield Road (US 150) was recently awarded by the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet to Nally & Haydon LLC of Bardstown and American Engineers Inc.

Preliminary design work on the project that will widen that section of KY 245 to five lanes will begin soon. Construction is likely to begin later this year, with a completion date of Nov. 1, 2015.

A related but separate construction project being planned will relieve congestion between the KY 245-US150 intersection and the Bluegrass Parkway. That project is in the final design phase and awaits funding for utility relocation, right-of-way acquisition and construction.
