Wednesday, June 21, 2017, 6 p.m. — A Cox’s Creek man was indicted Wednesday by a Nelson County grand jury for felony assault charges and for possessing a knife on school property.
Dennis Martin Hill, 18, of Cox’s Creek, was indicted on charges related to an incident that happened April 17, 2017.
According to the indictment, Hill allegedly burned another person in the neck area with a heated knife. Hill was also allegedly in possession of the knife on a school bus. He was indicted on on one count of second-degree assault, a Class C felony, and one count of unlawful possession of a weapon on school property, a Class D felony.
A Class C felony is punishable by five to 10 years in prison. A Class D felony is punishable by one to five years in prison.
Bail was set at $9,500 cash only, plus conditions.
