Edward Jury, 86, Bardstown

Edward Jury, 86, of Bardstown, died Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012, at his residence. He was born Nov. 6, 1925, in Nelson County. He was a 1943 Bardstown High School graduate and retired from Wilson and Muir Bank. He was a member of the Bardstown United Methodist Church and the Bardstown Tree Protection Committee. He volunteered as the church treasurer for 63 years, was a former Bardstown City Councilman, a former member of the Nelson County Public Library Board of Directors and a former treasurer for the Bardstown High School Band.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Leo and Willie Mae Reed Jury; one brother, Bobby Reed Jury; one sister, Barbara Barnes; and a great granddaughter, Ally Reinle.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jane Foster Jury; two sons, Edward Ray Jury and his wife Margie, both of Bardstown, and David Jury and his wife Tammy, both of Florence; one brother, Bill Jury of Atlanta; one sister, Betty Black of Louisville; nine grandchildren, Christiane Reinle, E.R. Jury, David Jury, Virginia Jury, Andrew Jury, Meghan Jury, Morgan Jury, Ben Jury and Bradley Jury; and 11 great-grandchildren.

The funeral is 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, at the Bardstown United Methodist Church with burial in Bardstown Cemetery. The Rev. Scott Stith will officiate.

Visitation is 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at Clark and Houghlin Funeral Home, and 9-11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 6, 2012, at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Bardstown United Methodist Church.

Clark and Houghlin Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 1475 New Shepherdsville Road, is in charge of the arrangements.
