Wednesday, July 3, 2013, 1:15 a.m. — A Nelson County EMS ambulance transporting a patient to Flaget Memorial Hospital was involved early Wednesday morning in an accident that sent two people to the hospital with minor injuries. The ambulance was southbound on US 62 when it rear-ended another vehicle near the intersection of KY 245 and US 62 at about 12:46 a.m.
Two people in the vehicle struck by the ambulance were transported to Flaget Memorial Hospital, including a 17-year-old female complaining of lower back pain and a 49-year-old male complaining of lower back and head pain. An additional EMS squad transported the patient in the ambulance involved in the accident to the hospital. No one in the ambulance was injured.
