Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014 — J. T. Fulkerson of Cox’s Creek has entered the race for Nelson County sheriff as a Republican. Fulkerson is the second candidate to file for the office. The other candidate for sheriff is Democrat Ed Mattingly who filed his candidacy paperwork last November.
The filing deadline for the May primary is 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28.
