Sunday, April 24, 2011, 7:40 p.m. — A flash flood warning has been issued for Nelson, LaRue, Washington, Marion, Green, Hart and Taylor counties until 1:30 a.m. Monday.
The National Weather Service radar indicates today’s rain is pushing streams out of their banks, and 2 to 3 inches of additional rainfall are possible in the warned area. Be aware of water ponding on roadways on city and county highways. Never attempt to cross a flooded roadway in a vehicle; 12 inches of rapidly moving water can sweep a vehicle off the road.
