Monday, May 16, 2016 — A road surface failure on Murphy Lane near its intersection with Old Tunnell Mill Road this weekend means the road will be closed indefinitely.
Nelson County Road Department Engineer Jim Lemieux said via email the county road department plans to create a turn-around once they secure the permission of property owners.
Photos provided by Lemieux show one lane of the roadway cracked and shifting away from the rest of the pavement.
